Krishna Leela: Tales of the Divine Child — Chapter 1: A King's Fear

All chapters of Krishna Leela: Tales of the Divine Child

At Devaki's wedding procession, a disembodied voice foretells that her eighth child will kill the tyrant Kansa — who, in blind terror, imprisons his own sister and her husband rather than risk the prophecy coming true.

Hook: A joyous wedding procession is shattered when the sky itself speaks a king's death sentence.

Key Event: The prophetic voice booming from the sky mid-procession — "The eighth child of this couple will be your death, Kansa" — and Kansa's murderous lunge for Devaki on the spot, stopped only by Vasudeva's desperate bargain to hand over every child as it's born.
