After witnessing a dragon crash-land into Moon Tear Lake, the forest animals race to wake Xīyán,and inform him about the incident. Once Xīyán learns about the dragon, he’s immediately on guard, knowing that dragons are extremely difficult creatures who often turn to violence. Xīyán races to the lake, and finds Húlí already there, keeping an eye out. Xīyán assesses the dragon, and sees multiple wounds. The creature is near death. Despite Húlí’s warning, Xīyán chooses to save the dragon.
