In the quiet town of Oakhaven, Mikasha works within her dimly lit workshop, surrounded by the rhythmic ticking of countless antique timepieces. While repairing a rusted pocket watch brought in by a stranger, she is interrupted by the sudden collapse of Eren Yeager, who has stumbled into her shop seeking shelter from a brewing storm. As she tends to his sudden fever, Eren reveals he has no recollection of how he reached the town, his confusion deepening when he looks at Mikasha with a hollow, searching gaze. Mikasha realizes that the watch he carries is the very object she has been searching for, sparking a faint, painful flicker of a shared childhood memory in her mind. She decides to keep him in her shop for the night to study the artifact, knowing that fixing it will cost her the memories of their shared past that she has fought so hard to preserve. As the clock strikes midnight, Eren falls into a deep sleep, and the reflection in the watch's glass begins to distort, erasing the image of their shared home from the surface.
