Mystic World — Chapter 8: Shattered Resonance
As the hunter rips the grating away, Bunny dives beneath the jagged metal edge, dragging Bunny Magic into a lower maintenance crawlspace. The hunter’s sonic pulse shatters the glass-like shards forming on Bunny Magic's arm, causing agonizing pain and further restricting their movement. Bunny confronts her own helplessness, choosing to use her body as a physical barrier to block the hunter’s reach while Bunny Magic attempts to reconfigure the signal frequency with her remaining hand. The effort creates a feedback loop that forces the tunnel lights to explode, plunging the sector into total darkness. In the chaos, they narrowly escape into a disused subway car, but the cost of the maneuver is the total loss of movement in Bunny Magic’s left arm. The chapter ends with the hunter tapping a rhythmic, mocking beat on the exterior of their subway car, proving they are still trapped in the dark.
