Mystic World — Chapter 5: Pulse of the Hunter
Inside the rattling subway car, Bunny Magic tries to pry the glowing nanite from her shoulder, but the metal embeds deeper into her flesh with every attempt. She ignores her own pain to find Bunny, who is waiting in the next station carriage, confused by the sudden flickering of the train's overhead lights. Bunny Magic decides to risk her remaining energy to cloak the car, but the effort causes the train's emergency brakes to trigger, forcing them into a pitch-black tunnel. As the train grinds to a halt, the rhythmic red pulse from her shoulder begins to synchronize with the train's alarm lights. Outside the windows, the hunter’s silhouette appears on the tunnel wall, closing the distance as the red light from the nanite intensifies.
